Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce Korea Polar Research Institute will hold the 19th International Symposium on Polar Sciences in Songdo, Republic of Korea on October 16-18, 2013.

This International Symposium on Polar Sciences has been an important part of Korea¡¯s polar research history since 1988 and it served as opportunities for the Korean Polar Program to stay abreast with the trend and progress of polar research as well as to discuss and plan for future efforts with international colleagues.

The theme of the symposium in 2013 is ¡°Toward Comprehensive Understanding on Arctic Climate Change¡±. The main objective is to examine the causes and impacts of rapid warming in Arctic and to understand underlying feedback processes observed in atmosphere, ocean, and terrestrial ecosystems.

We are looking forward to your participation.

Convener
Dr. Moon Young CHOE
Acting President
